Is Taylor Swift setting the stage for a Broadway production? The singer just filed to acquire the trademark for "Female Rage: The Musical."
On Saturday, Swift's team submitted an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The application includes a variety of goods and services including — but not limited to — clothing, music, jewelry, dishware, guitar picks and "entertainment services in the nature of live musical performances, live music concerts, live stage performances in the nature of musical and theatrical productions."
When Swift introduced "The Tortured Poets Department" as part of her set in Paris, she described the era as "Female Rage: The Musical." She later used the phrase again in an Instagram post that began: "This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical."
Rebecca Liebowitz of Venable LLP, part of Swift's legal team, filed (also on a Saturday) in late January for the trademark "TAYLOR-CON." The trademark has been assigned to trademark attorney Wendell Phillips.
To give an idea of how lengthy the approval process is, Swift's "Midnights" trademark was recently registered on April 9, 2024, after being filed on Aug. 28, 2022. Her "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" and "1989 (Taylor's Version)" trademarks haven't officially been registered. In both instances of her rerecords, the examining attorney has sent a letter to Swift's team requiring additional information or making an initial refusal. According to the USPTO website, the average pendency for a trademark is 14.5 months.

On Sunday, Swift finished four nights of concerts at La Défense Arena in Paris. On the final night and 87th Eras Tour show (87 is Travis Kelce's jersey number), she performed a mashup "Treacherous" with "The Alchemy," a song fans believe is about Kelce.
Swift will continue her European leg of the Eras Tour with performances Friday through Sunday at Friends Arena in Sweden.
