Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert fractured the middle finger on his left non-throwing hand, the Chargers confirmed this week.
Herbert’s injury isn’t expected to sideline him. Herbert’s game status would be listed as probable if the Chargers were playing this week, but the club has a Week 5 bye.
The Chargers quarterback injured his finger while he was being blocked by Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby after he threw an interception during the third quarter of the Chargers’ 24-17 win. Herbert was able to return to the game with a splint on his finger.
The Chargers host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 6. Herbert has produced 1,106 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception, resulting in a 106.3 passer rating this season.
Here are some other injuries we are tracking:

Cooper Kupp, Rams
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring) is set to be activated this week off injured reserve. Once activated, the Rams have a 21-day window to put Kupp on their active roster.
Kupp initially injured his hamstring injury on Aug. 1. He suffered a setback before the team’s season opener and was subsequently placed on IR. Kupp has yet to make his 2023 season debut.
Jamal Adams, Seahawks
Taking the field for the first time in more than a year, Jamal Adams did not last long during his return.
Adams left the Seattle Seahawks' "Monday Night Football" matchup against the New York Giants with a concussion he suffered on the ninth play of the game when Giants quarterback Daniel Jones' knee collided with Adams' helmet in front of the Seattle sideline.
The seventh-year safety remained down and needed assistance walking off the field as he headed for the sideline medical tent. He eventually walked to the locker room and was ruled out. -- Chris Bumbaca
